If you are pregnant and wondering how to best prepare yourself and your partner for birth, this workshop is for you! This is a 90-minute class led by Dr. Hannah Strom, pelvic floor physical therapist and Dr. Jen Shupe, Chiropractor. We invite anyone who is in their 2nd trimester of pregnancy and beyond, as well as one birth partner, such as a spouse, friend, or other family member. This workshop is designed to give you the positions and pelvic floor preparation you NEED for your upcoming birth!
During this class you will learn and practice the following to help you feel prepared for your birthing and postpartum journey:
Mindset and nervous system tools for an optimal birth
How to reduce your risk of and severity of tearing with perineal massage
Hands-on partner techniques to provide comfort during labor
Explore useful positions for pushing and delivery and discover the ones that work best for you!
How to prepare your body so that you reduce the risk of common postpartum pelvic floor challenges and have a less painful recovery.

Dr. Hannah Strom, Pelvic Health Physical Therapist, is deeply passionate about providing comprehensive and high-quality pelvic health physical therapy care, with a special focus on supporting women throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum recovery. She founded Awake Pelvic Health & Wellness in 2021 with the dream of offering a higher level of care to patients across the Twin Cities, especially those navigating the transformative journey of motherhood. Dr. Hannah believes in an integrated, whole-person approach to pelvic health and healing. She resides in Woodbury with her husband, Gavi.
Dr. Jen Krohn-Shupe, named Chiropractor of the Year in Wisconsin in 2021, has been serving the St. Croix Valley for almost 20 years. She was an athlete growing up and originally focused on that population, however after she noticed the profound difference chiropractic can make on families when adjusting pregnant moms and infants; she has a passion for serving that population as well. She's adjusted numerous moms during the labor process to help reduce stress on mom and improve birth outcomes for moms and babies. Her goal is to reduce stress on families through influencing their nervous systems allowing the family to function better, feel better and thrive. She resides in Hudson with her husband, Brad and 3 boys, Blake, Liam and Garrett.
