Watch this to learn more about Endometriosis
What is endometriosis?
Endometriosis is a condition in which cells that are similar, but NOT the same as cells in the lining of the uterus grow on organs of the pelvic and abdominal cavity, or anywhere in the body. This tissue is often called “endometrial lesions” and these lesions can cause pain, infertility, scar tissue, and organ dysfunction due to the inflammation and irritation/invasion they have on structures and organs in the body.
Endometriosis impacts 1 in 10 individuals with a uterus. And it may take up to 7 years to receive a correct diagnosis. All too often, individuals with endometriosis symptoms are dismissed as just having “bad cramps” by medical providers for years, just being told to take birth control or pain medication.
