How Bodywork can Help You Heal

At Awake Pelvic Health & Wellness we believe in the use of regular hands-on manual therapy and bodywork techniques to reduce pain, heal tissues, and help you find lasting relief.

So what does manual therapy actually do and why does it work? It helps to reduce muscle tension, calm your nervous system, reduce pain signaling to your brain, and improve tissue mobility and blood flow. The more “feel good” signals your nerves send to your brain + improved mobility/blood flow to muscles = less pain and better movement!

Here are some of the tools and techniques we use on a regular basis to help patients feel better and thrive!

  • Cupping Therapy

  • Dry Needling

  • Soft tissue massage/mobilization

  • Joint mobilization

  • Hypervolt percussion therapy

  • Kinesiotaping

  • Essential oils

After any hands on work we follow-up with exercise such as mobility, stretching, or strengthening - based on what your body needs! While we primarily specialize in physical therapy for pelvic floor dysfunction, we also offer “Awake Bodywork” visits which are 30-60 minute bodywork-only sessions combining several of the tools listed above to leave your entire body feeling amazing.
