Holistic Pelvic Pain Care

At Awake Pelvic Health, we get pelvic pain. Our philosophy is to provide you with a holistic, comprehensive, and whole-person plan of care to long-term relief and healing. Our physical therapists have an extensive passion for and experience with treating individuals with pelvic pain conditions.

We understand the vast complexities of pelvic pain and that the challenges you may have when navigating the medical system to find the care you need. Here are common pelvic pain conditions that we see everyday:

  • Pain with intercourse

  • Interstitial cystitis/bladder pain syndrome

  • Vulvodynia

  • Painful periods

  • Endometriosis pain

  • Chronic constipation

  • Vaginisumus

  • Pelvic organ prolapse

  • Perineal tear pain

  • Pudendal Neuralgia

So what exactly does it mean to take a “holistic approach” to pelvic pain?

  1. Listening to your story, your symptoms, and your goals

  2. Providing you with a full-body, hands-on assessment

  3. Designing a comprehensive treatment plan that involves unique modalities such as craniosacral therapy, visceral mobilization, lifestyle/health coaching, pain science education, dry needling, hands-on manual therapy, yoga, Pilates, and mindfulness

  4. Helping you get to the root cause (we are not “just doing kegels” here!)

Unfortunately, due to time constraints and high productivity requirements at traditional physical therapy and medical clinics, patients are often provided with short visits, minimal hands-on treatment, and no long-term wellness care. At Awake Pelvic Health we want to help you not only find relief from pain, but long-term improvement and tools you can use to keep pain at bay for the long-haul.
